Leaving on a Jet Plane...

I was lucky enough to get to spend a few days in Colorado visiting Terri, Dave and Megan.
My flying experience left much to be desired, but spending time with my niece was priceless.

Flying out there, I had a 50 minute layover in Salt Lake City. It got delayed an hour so I treated myself to Starbucks. Then it got delayed another hour so I bought a magazine. Then it got canceled and I almost cried. I was only going to be in Colorado for two days! Not getting there that night was going to cut into my visit.

Delta was kind enough to put everyone up at a hotel, they gave us food vouchers and re-booked us for 6:40 a.m. the next day. So off I went to the Quality Inn Airport hotel. I checked in shortly after 11 p.m. and headed to my room...past the SNOW on the ground. Needless to say, it was freezing. I got to my room and set a wake-up call for 4:30 a.m. as I needed to get on the airport shuttle at 5:00 in order to make my flight. I got maybe two hours of sleep because my room was next to some sort of maintenance room and faced a set of train tracks as well as a truck stop. The curtains didn't close all the way and were see through. Luckily my flight left right on time the next morning and I finally made it to Denver!

Megan is the most beautiful baby! She slept most of the time I was there of course, but I did get a few pictures with her eyes open. We took her on her first trip to Outback Steakhouse, her first lunch out at Panera and her first trip to Target! Terri was still in a lot of pain so on Tuesday night she and Dave rested/ate dinner and I took care of Megan. She introduced Aunt Becky to Parenting 101....she spit up down the side of her face, into her ear, all over her sleeper and her cradle mattress. So I took her to her room to change her and as I was walking in the door...she pooped. So I changed her diaper and as soon as I picked her up after putting on the fresh diaper, guess what she did again? You guessed it....I had to change her diaper AGAIN!

Flying home was another miserable experience. I tried to check in 35 minutes before my flight and they wouldn't let me because you have to be there 45 minutes before. So, I sat in the Denver airport for 3 hours, which caused me to miss my connecting flight from Phoenix so I sat in THAT airport for 3.5 hours. I finally made it home at 10:00 last night.

I included some pictures of Megan, as well as my hotel in Salt Lake City.

I think I'm done with flying for awhile =)
