Today my friend Cassie and Jack and I went to the Disney's California Adventure Food & Wine Festival. Our main intention was to see Guy Fieri of Food Network fame.
The line to get into his cooking demonstration was already full, so we wandered around and checked out some of the other exhibits. We sampled some tiny food (sampler sizes) and watched John Lasseter of Pixar fame speak about his family's wines. I had the Karl Strauss beer and cheese soup and Cassie had a fruit cobbler. We also had the best coke ever! There was a machine that offered 106 different flavor options. It was so cool! There was a touch screen and you selected the type of beverage you wanted (all Coke products such as Coke, Fanta, Mr. Pibb, etc.) and then selected flavor options. I had a caffeine free diet coke with lime and caffeine free diet coke with cherry. SO yummy!
We went back to the Guy Fieri stage and got in the standby line. They let all of the standbys fill in the standing space behind the tables and chairs in the demonstration area. Of course Jack had a meltdown right as they were announcing Guy! So he and I left so I could change him and calm him down. When we came back I stood at the back of the crowd off to the side. The cast member working guest control was SO sweet...when she saw me pull out my camera she asked her manager if I could walk closer (to an area they were keeping clear) to take a photo. He said sure, and walked me over. I got some great photos of Guy!!
After we had our fill at DCA we headed over to Disneyland to visit with Jeff and ride Casey Jr. It was a great day!
