::taps mic:: Is this thing on?

Gosh I have neglected the blog lately! I've been really busy (with what, who knows!) but I'm going to try to do a quick post and throw in a few adorable pictures.

Jack is officially in a toddler bed now! He was starting to climb out of his crib and all I could see was him tumbling head first onto the floor in the middle of the night. So Jeff took the front rail off and put the toddler rail on. We had to get new bedding because he still needs bumpers and ours was all in one piece. So new bed, new bedding....oh boy our Dude is not a baby anymore!

He is sleeping.....not so well. The first night in the toddler bed he slept fine. We'd had a long day that started with running errands, then the car broke down right after we left the house. Had to call AAA to jump start it, then had to take it to mom and dad's overnight until Jeff could put a battery in it. Mom and I finished my errands (Jack-free thanks to grandpa!) and by the time we were done it was time to leave for Nikki's birthday dinner. After dinner (during which Jack was a total angel which is awesome after our long day!), Mom and Dad dropped us off and I put Jack's new bedding on and put him to bed. He slept his usual 12 hours and woke us up by walking into our room and saying, "OH mama!" It was the cutest thing ever!!

The second night it took me 3.5 hours and driving him to sleep to get him down. But, he slept until 7 am. I had bought a baby gate to put at his door but I could not figure the stupid thing out so he kept walking out into the living room, and after the first two times I put him back in bed he thought it was a game. So when I went to walk him back to bed he would run and laugh. After awhile I could hear him laughing before he even opened the door :/

Once we got the gate up, it got much better. Nights 3 and 4 took about 40-45 minutes for him to fall asleep, but it's a HUGE improvement over night #1, and we knew the newfound freedom would take some adjusting to.
