Today we spent a fun filled day with my parents at Legoland. It's kind of a kiddie park, but anyone who knows Jeff knows how much he loves legos! Pretty much everything at Legoland is made out of legos. The best part of the park is Miniland. There they have replicas of New York City, San Francisco and Las Vegas among others- all made out of legos! Most of the cities even having moving vehicles, people and interactive features. For example, in Las Vegas you can push a button to make the volcano in front of the mirage go off.
We went on several rides, including a leisurely boat ride around the lake. We saw the Sydney Opera house, Mount Rushmore, the Taj Mahal and the Eiffel Tower. It took hundreds of thousands of legos to make each monument. One of my favorite rides were these little boats that you drive around a small course- and they're not on a track!
The great thing about Legoland is that instead of waiting in line for ride after ride like at other amusement parks, there is plenty to do just walking around, exploring and discovering. Even though we went during the summer, it was not overly hot or crowded. The lines were very short and it was actually very pleasant to spend the day there. You can build with legos at almost every store, and there are several areas intended just for building legos. If you have kids, make sure you take their bathing suits. There are several water areas for the kids to play, including a full on water park with slides!
Enjoy the pictures!
