Today we took a day trip to Griffith Park. On the second Tuesday of every month the Autry Museum of Western Heritage offers free admission so we decided to take advantage. The museum has a really cool exhibit through August 23rd featuring personal items from stars of country western music.
After we visited the museum we headed over to Travel Town for a picnic lunch. I am sad to say that Travel Town just isn't what it used to be. I remember being able to explore all of the trains inside, but there was mostly just caution tape and signs asking you not to enter. There was one train available to go inside, but it had been gutted and all the seats taken out. Very disappointing!
I was afraid I wouldn't be able to make the trip because I haven't been feeling well, but I am glad I did. It was such a fun day and it was nice to be able to take advantage of some free cultural activities.
