Better late than never, right?
Jack is 10 months old and growing like a weed. He can stand on his own, take a few steps without holding on, waves bye-bye, gives high fives and continues to eat everything in sight. He has said his official first word, though it's hard to get him to say it sometimes.
For a few months he's been babbling lots of "mama" and "dada" but it's never been said in context or connected to Jeff or I. But recently he started dropping pieces of food off his high chair, looking around and saying, "nnnn-NA." It took me a minute to figure it out, but as soon as Luna came over to eat the droppings, Jack lit up and repeated, "nnnn-NA." His first word is LUNA! It's too cute but also slightly frustrating as he does this at nearly every meal. Luna, of course, is more than happy to indulge him but I'd prefer he not drop food down to the dog ;)
This is an exciting time of year as we head into Jack's first Christmas. We'll be going out to look at Christmas lights with friends and taking him to his first Disneyland Family Holiday Party. For those that know us well, you know how special the party is to Jeff and me, and we can't wait to share it with our son.
And though I hate to think about it, shortly after Christmas our sweet boy turns one! I am both excited and sad.
